The first person to love is yourself.

When you love yourself, others will also love you. It’s a natural exchange of energy. Just like a smile to one person, makes you feel good and them also. Sharing love, by saying the words “I love you,” or simply send the words energetically “I love you,” to the person you see or feel needs them the most. In loving yourself, all your expectations of love are realized. Loving all parts of yourself inside and out gives you the freedom to just be. There is no judgement of yourself or others because loving is precious, and it’s safe.

Others will love you as you love yourself.

When you love yourself, loving others is so much easier.

I have quoted many authors in my blogs, and one of my favourites is from an author in the Bible. 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verse 4:

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast,

it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,

it is not easily angered,

it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil

but rejoices with the truth.

These are the most wondrous words that have resonated with me for years. Each time I read them, I am reminded of how I can love unconditionally with peace in my heart and a smile on my face. To look at people and situations with love and curiosity, with hope that the love I share is making a difference to the world around me.

To love more, to love better and to love often.
